Meet your Judges

Judge Chanda
Chanda not only has the voice of an angel, she can strum the guitar as well. She has written and recorded her own music and won the regional phase of Colgate Country Showdown and competed in the State Finals. While she loves country music, she is knowledgeable in all genres and has a voice that soars like a certain other Diva who is a Judge on the televised version of my contest! Take a listen.

Judge –Jay-
Jay is known as the “badboy” of SingSnap and it has been said, you don’t go to Jay’s page without passing through the “offensive warning” . The best rapper on Snap, he is also well versed in the “Alternative” genre, but can sing country as well. Very versatile, he is the perfect person to listen to our hard edged rock contestants and let them know whether they are as good as they think they are! Listen if you dare.

Judge Paul-D4
Paul....otherwise known as D4 and for our purposes here, will be called D4 is a professional volleyball player who is as smooth on the volleyball Court as he is singing. He is also Chanda’s personal assistant, and therefore has a vested interest in “beating the boss”, ha ha! Ready to listen and assist those with that smooth R&B sound, D4 is the perfect Judge for “love/score” music. Take a listen.

Judge Darryl
Darryl, or as he is often affectionately called D!, is about as country as a country boy gets. It is one of my favorite things about him!! A smooth voice, a love of all things country, there is no one more qualified to listen for perfection in those good ole country tunes. Working on oil rigs, just like Toby, and crooning tunes like old Conway. Give this good ole boy a listen.

The Hostess/Judge’s Judge

And then there is me: The Judges’ Judge. For disclosure sake, Jay is my boyfriend, Chanda is my best girlfriend, and I adore D and D4. They know that there is NO special treatment of anyone here, and trust me to be fair in my decisions. I have run and “co-run” dozens of contests here on Snap and even participated in a Judge’s contest, where the goal was to see how good of a Judge you are. I came in third and that was WAY before I did contests often, so I am confident that I know what I am doing.

THE WAY THE GAME IS PLAYED

1. We need at least forty contestants to start out. If we have more than forty audition, the contestants will be cut down to forty.

2. Once the contestant list is narrowed to forty, each Team Judge will be given 100 “bidding” points. Each Team Judge needs ten contestants for their team. They will use the bidding points to choose their team. They can bid as many points on a singer as they wish, however once they are out of points, they have no more left to bid with. If a Judge runs out of points, they will be assigned any leftover singers randomly. In other words, if they bid twenty points on one singer and win, they only have eighty left for the rest of their team members. Each of the forty singers left will be assigned to a team.

3. Once teams are chosen, each Team Judge becomes responsible for their team. They can coach, help choose songs, and assist their team in any way they see fit to give their singers an edge. At the end of the round, each Team Judge will judge their own team and submit to me the name of the person they feel was the weakest that round.

4. At that point, the four singers chosen that round will “sing-off” against each other, and I as the Judge’s Judge will choose the winner of that round, the other three contestants will be eliminated and the winning Team will be given ten points. At the end of the contest, the Team Judge with the most points and their team win, so even if you are eliminated as a singer, you still have a chance to win a “My Team has the voice” banner and the overall winner of the contest will win a special banner for their page. The winning Judge will also receive a banner.

THE AUDITION RULES

1. Pre-records are only allowed in the audition round.

2. All songs must be from the SingSnap library and must follow the criteria for the round.

3. No badmouthing any contestant, Judge or my very special list keeper, Leslie. You don’t want to bad mouth her anyway, she has a tendency to throw things! If you have an issue with anything going on, please feel free to pm me.

Auditions will remain open until February 29, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. SingSnap time or when we reach sixty entries, whichever comes first.
