1-3-1 Challenge (No.3) - “Soundtracks”.

It’s getting colder and there’s nothing nicer than to bunch up on the sofa and switch on a good movie, tv series, or Netflix.

Are you like me, whilst you are watching, a tune or song starts to play and you are like, who is that? I must check out YouTube??? I recently watched the whole of ER from start to finish, again. I know, right? I used to watch when my girls were little and wanting cuddles/sleeping at lunchtime. I don’t think I saw it all the first time round and during lockdown I… anyway, I digress.

So many songs I was like, wow, must find!!! PS it was also fun seeing actors/actresses and recognising them and realising I knew them now from other things I had watched!

So, that is your challenge this week. Watch the entire 15 seasons of ER… Um, I mean, Go find me soundtracks. This is a really loose theme for you to enjoy. They don’t have to be Academy or award winning but there’s some great lists compiled on the net to help you if needing inspiration. :) And you can s-t-r-e-t-c-h if you find a song you like and then find it fits a film you haven't actually seen. Having said that, tell us if you have and what you liked/disliked about it? Maybe we can inspire you to go and watch more?

This challenge will run from Sunday 11th October to Sunday 18th October 2020.

This challenge is open to everyone – new and old, blue and gold.
Everyone is still a winner – the winning is in the taking part, sharing, and caring.

The new challenge is in a 1- 3 -1 format.

One wordopen to so much more! Harder for me than you!! :D
The description will explain what/how?

Three songs – yes, let’s try and keep it down to three for now, and let’s try and be generous. For each song you post, listen to three other people’s songs in the challenge, then post your second, do the same again and then your third.

One Week – I’m a bit on the lazy side! Our old EAW challenges originally ran 2-3 days and virtually non-stop – live chat and weekends included! I recognise we are all busy, so, I want this to be a time to chill, drop in when you can and enjoy.

BONUS SONGS – Over the week because it is a long time, I am allowing 2 extra songs between WEDNESDAY and Sunday – spread them out! Bonus songs must follow the theme and must also comply with 3 listens for each one added.

Please add your songs in the following format:

Name of Song - Artist:
Link:

The PLAYLIST will be written links to help accessibility and fairness to listens both ends and in the middle as people join us during the week. On Sunday, Mikeiii will add an automated playlist for those joining in late or anyone needing to catch up.

If you wish to link back to this challenge page in your song description that’s totally up to you. It does help!

There are FOUR options

1) add a plain link… grab the url on the first page.

2) use the image I use up top – CODE:

[url=http://www.singsnap.com/karaoke/forum/topic/ac133eea][IMG]http://i.imgur.com/P2OomK7m.jpg[/IMG][/url]

3) Whilst I’d prefer to see the main image if you are going to use one, I am open to creativity and you are free to play. If you want to share or use someone else’s creation – speak to them via PM and share codes. NO BANNERS or CODES in the THREAD please.

4) Another alternative option - put it in your status. Giving you the ability to click it and come back here after listening and commenting to catch up with more great songs and singers.

CODE for Status:

[url=http://www.singsnap.com/karaoke/forum/topic/ac133eea] 1-3-1 Challenge (No.3)[/url]

You don’t have to use any of these, however, it would be great if you bring friends along who have songs you notice while listening that fit the theme :)

Have a wonderful week!

Hi Janet,

We are on!! I was anticipating what you've decided for Challenge No. 3 and you did not
disappoint, this is a great theme and tons of inspirational music from tons of movies
Yeah, and we are on to the race of picking the good stuff heh heh

My 1st song is on the movie "Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid" starring Paul Newman
Robert Redford and Katharine Ross, a beautiful movie released September 1969 and
Burt Bacharach provided a lot of the music including this classic song :

RAINDROPS KEEPS FALLIN ON MY HEAD - B J THOMAS ( NEW RECORDING )

Ahh, yes, that could be a problem. So many loved songs seem to have gone 'poof'...

Of course, I am happy to receive pre-records but it will be wonderful if we can find and bring fresh ones. Otherwise it's not very challenging, well, other than finding them I will now eat some of my words... LOL

I'm all caught up! Off to fiddle again, bin night! Woo-hoo!

Morning all
Love the new theme Janet
I see you’ve all been busy while the night watch was sleeping
I have to go shopping so here’s an oldie which didn’t get many listens back in the day

I recorded It just before leaving Sydney to retire in Queensland .
So this song is
Nostalgia Time for me In many ways
...the year 2015 when I sang it making a big change
Also the year it was recorded 1967
Which was the year I got married to my forever man
From the movie To Sir With Love starting Sidney Poitier (I cried buckets)

All caught up to here... unless someone sneaks in above me, Hee hee.

Heard some wonderful songs and yes, I put the bin out...

I eventually gave up on the singing, Art! I gave my computer a headache... poor thing! I was changing and forgetting mid line in lyrics. Even at the beginning.

Bit like going into the kitchen to get the bin bag out and finding myself in the cupboard taking out a mug for a cup of coffee

Righty-ho! Off to bed - see you all tomorrow. Have a lovely night if you're not in bed already.

Those on night shift, I left you a flask and some Jammy Dodgers! <--- you might need to Google that one, and corr!! Magic stuff happens.

The very first James Bond movie I ever watched and still in the top 3 of my favorite Ian Flemming's James Bond movies of all times was "From Russia With Love" and starring a great Scotsman actor by the name of Sean Connery, I still think that he had portrayed
all of what Ian's super spy character is but of course - 007 need always to be young,
flamboyant and an excellent super spy so..........

Hope he has a gorgeous voice like Sean Connery. tinypumpkin

Tiny, I searched up a few clips of his interviews on the net. He does have a deeper range I noticed on one when being serious, and if he works on that, it will be cool.

This is for you

He is still quite young I suppose and so, I think he sounds a little like David Tennant for pitch. Of course, he became extremely popular as The Doctor... not sure he'd make a good Bond though, hmm. Richard Madden has those certain 'rugged' (lived-in) features that go down well with expressions and emotions, love the eyebrows, lol. And... according to this, he's good at 'death'.

***

I'm nearly there, I keep getting distracted by all these great films mentioned that I haven't seen so I'm searching YouTube... *cough* and watched a couple of episodes of STOPPIT & TIDYUP looking for Stoppit getting 'a good bounce' to calm him down .

I've found two full films (Classics) so far, so, you can guess what I will be doing later

Wonderful, wonderful songs and singing.

Ising - so good to see you and that you transported your Colors Of The Wind to here! I did briefly see you had tagged it onto the last challenge after closure. I was going to come find you as soon as I could And yayy! To it fitting this challenge as well.

Looking forward to your Goldfinger!
