Actually recorded one of her hits just yesterday and had a lot of fun singing her stuff for the first time. This should be a lot of fun learning new songs.

This is just a suggestion while you ladies are waiting for the contest to start. Maybe check all the the songs you are not familiar with from the library and You Tube them to get an idea? Because you never know what song you will get in the 1st round. :o}

Been a long time since I have held a contest and going to get back into the groove again.
Those of you who know me and have been in my contests before know that I love to run fun and fair contests. For those that don’t know me, I am not partial to anyone when it comes to fairness in judging in my contests. No friends or favoritism here.
Ever since that day in April 1969 while stationed in Germany, I had the honor of front row center at a Janis Joplin concert, I fell in love with that girl. It saddened me deeply when she left us so very young. I have every record she ever recorded.
No one (in my opinion) can sing and sound just like Janis, but I am looking for 18 ladies out here that think they can come close… Are you one of them? Can you "WOW" me?

This will be a 3 Round Contest. THERE WILL BE NO ELIMINATIONS IN ROUND 1. IN ROUND 2, 8 PEOPLE WILL BE CUT. THE FINAL 10 WILL MOVE ON TO THE FINALS. I will award as follows:
Top Performer, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. Everyone who enters will get an honorable mention award, not a participation banner. The rest will be explained on round 1.
The rounds will be as follows;
1st Round: I have 9 songs on a list numbered 1-18 and you will sing the song assigned to the number in order you sign in. EXAMPLE: You are the 3rd person to sign in you sing song#3. NOTE: THERE WILL BE 2 SINGERS PER EACH SONG.
2nd Round: Everyone will sing the same song I have picked for this round.
Finals: Same as round 2. Everyone sings the same song I have for my final decision.
JUST 2 SIMPLE RULES, AND HERE THEY ARE:
VIOLATORS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE.
I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ANYONE WITH NO EXPLINATION..
This is all for fun, not a million dollar recording contract. So just sing and enjoy.. :o}
I will give you plenty of time after I post the songs to get them in because I know you may need to learn them and we are from all over the world here.
