I seriously doubt it is because you are ugly or cannot sing. SingSnap is full of singers and a lot of people don't listen... that is not personal at all. I find listens are always down in the summer too.

You could try posting your song links in a promotion thread.

the best way to get listens is to make friends! Enter contests, challenges or promote one of your songs in the Promotion thread. If you like duets, there is a duet thread, find someone to sing with

All the options Boney listed are good. Don't count on the feature songs for alot of views and listens. You don't stay on that page long enough for many people to see your song posted. I did a feature song today (very rare for me), and I only got one view and two comments. One of them was me thanking the listener. The contests and challenges are your best best,,,IMO.

I want to add to daveeeeee that if you enjoy singing, sing your heart out. You don't need a huge audience to validate you in any way (in my opinion). I appreciate the comments I get very much but they are not crucial to me. Singing, just for the joy of it, is enough for me.

My take on the listen for a listen philosophy is, if you have time, do it. If you do not have time, don't. I have a busy life outside of the Internet so I do not usually get around to listening. This is why I always thank people in my song comment.

I agree, however, if comments are important to you, listen for a listen, join contests, use the promotion folder, etc. I did that for at least 2 years until I just could not keep up anymore. Returning listens turned into a 6 hour a day task. It just is not feasible for me at this time.

its the fun in doing what you do that counts daveeeeee ( had to check i put 6 e's in there lol )

sometimes i get lots of comments and views, sometimes i dont. But i dont get disheartened by it, i love this site, and i would still come here and sing even if nobody listened to me, because its what i love doing and it makes ME feel good!

I dont get a lot of time to do as many listens to people as i used to, and i do miss that! but when i get the time, i do listen to my favourite people, do some random listening and check out some new people. Its just finding the time, like a lot of other people i guess! Do what tassy said above, visit a few threads, enter a few contests, and let yourself be know

i think your question Dave could have a thousand answer i kind of wish i would know the real answer ..................i been trying to figure it out in the last 4 years and still a blank....................i don t think i m ugly and my little dog is the cutest....... so i got only the second part of your question right............. i can t sing .................but when i listen and comment i do it for communication so why they worry about if i can sing or not ?...................they call this month friendship but it makes me wonder ..............i ll take a free nice little comment over a Smile face anytime that is sure the best way to make anybody smile i think

All these questions have went through my mind many times and like mentioned one must be active in getting listens. It's just a hit or miss and not worth spending anytime on being frustrated when you can simply move on to the next person.

No matter what, some won't like another persons looks, singing, genre choice, possible jealous mate, bad timing, very busy in life, you name it, etc., it's just how it is.

Sure for some the listens seem to come easier than for myself or others, but finally I realized that getting return comments, even after visiting someone is not and shouldn't be my primary goal or concern. If they do then great if not, that's great as well, and the main focus is finding those 'nuggets' that value lasting friendship.
