I am trying to WRITE musicals...not Star in them....but I'm seeing the genre is alive enough to incorporate all kinds of songs...(already knew that...my musical has jazz tap and Gregorian Chant in it...covers the Renaissance to the 1990s.....Italy to London)

A musical with jazz, tap, and Gregorian chant ! Sounds brilliant!

Based on Robert Browning's poem, My Last Duchess...a great story...
The Duchess lived in the 1500s in Italy (she's a portrait on the wall in Browning's Italian Villa, Casa Guidi)...he wrote the poem about her about 1890. BUT she comes OUT of the portrait ...to tell him the TRUTH about her marriage to the Duke of Ferrara. And we see a British theater troupe perform this musical at Casa Guidi in Italy 1990...for an arts festival. So we get to see the actors as "performers" in My Last Duchess...and be "themselves" as part of the cast of this production...(very French Lieutenant's Woman (movie) sort of style.) Needed a bit more finesse to work well on stage.

Shopped this around in the 1990s with my ex...a violinist. Don't know what to do with it now.....Have thought of many Sing Snappers for my cast, though!

Evening Carol, I was just about to say that it reminds me of the style of "The French Lieutenant's Woman" Let me know when you are casting I'll be right over on the next plane lol :0)
