Most karaoke software I've encountered allows pitch changes in half-step increments, from plus-5 to minus-5 (two and a half steps up or down). It would be nice to have this ability in SingSnap's recorder app. Some songs work best for me at minus-1 or minus-3. Am I right that the present Lower, Low, High, and Higher settings represent minus-4, minus-2, plus-2, and plus-4 respectively?
Also, many songs have lengthy instrumentals, during which the singer has nothing to do but try to stay quiet. This is particularly inconvenient when doing multiple takes. The following features could be added to the recorder to address this:
1. The ability to drag the slider to a point in the song before hitting Record. This would allow users to skip intros.
2. A Skip To End button, which would fill in the remainder of the singer's track with silence (rather than abruptly ending the whole recording as the Stop button does). This would allow users to skip outros.
3. A Mute button. The software for my microphone doesn't include one, and it would be nice not to have to hold still to avoid picking up stray sounds during instrumentals. Turning down the record volume in the present app isn't a perfect solution, as it still picks up louder noises.
Apologies if these features already exist and I've just missed them.
These are all good ideas... I'm surprised there hasn't been any replies to this topic.
I REALLY want them to make the key change adjustment!
