Hello, Goodbye - The Beatles' final single of 1967,- was their first release after the death of Brian Epstein. It was backed with I Am The Walrus, to the displeasure of John Lennon, who considered his song to be the superior of the two. But Paul wrote later: The song's simplicity, much like previous single All You Need Is Love, was tailored to be understood by an international audience.

From the Beatles' White Album: Written by John Lennon in India, Dear Prudence was about Mia Farrow's younger sister, who refused to leave her chalet at the meditation retreat in Rishikesh, and had to be coaxed out by Lennon and George Harrison. Prudence Farrow later confirmed she was more fanatical in her pursuit of enlightenment than those around her.

When I was in South Korea, I found Hello Goodbye to be useful for teaching beginning-level English learners - I Am the Walrus would have really confused them...

Here is a Beatles song released in 1995 when the remaining members of The Beatles collaborated for the last time using 2 John Lennon home recording demo songs for the purpose of releasing their Anthology compilation albums. This one is Free As A Bird which is produced by the 3 remaining Beatles and Jeff Lynne from the Electric Light Orchestra. I used radio effects for my vocals for the Lennon parts but not for the McCartney parts so the two different parts sound distinct from each other. The coda ending I pasted the original coda from the actual Beatles track of this song where you can hear George Harrison playing ukulele and the voice of John Lennon played backwards. The message, when played in reverse, is "Turned out nice again", which was the catchphrase of George Formby, Jr. The final result sounds like "made by John Lennon", which, according to McCartney, was unintentional and was only discovered after the surviving Beatles reviewed the final mix. Just click on my image below to play my Youtube clip:

Stopped in for a visit to SS's Beatle Land....hi all!

Noticed that you mentioned Mia Farrow's sister up above, and how she was part of the contingent that went to India to be with Maharishi...

Well, besides being MAJORLY (is that a word???) influenced by the Beatles music then and now, I was also influenced by their interest in Transcendental Meditation. I studied at courses with Maharishi for a month in Canada and three months in Spain during the early 70s.

Side note: on the last day of classes in Spain, we had a showing of Yellow Submarine...how perfect!
