Any experience with the E-MU PIPEline?

I am currently investigating systems that can transmit audio over UHF radio; specifically, I need a means to link an S/P-DIF source to a remote earset without Bluetooth, due to system quirks in my Asus® CM1630-06 as of February 2012. The requirement for S/P-DIF is due to an intermittent issue with the XONAR® Essence STX' analog-output section, with infinite gain and a 6 kHz steady oscillation for symptoms (suspected problem: bad connections at the DAC op-amps); this problem does not affect the digital audio output. I prefer coaxial to Toslink due to anticipated grounding requirements for the transmitter and a recently-discovered issue with the STX' optical sender.

Creative Technology, Limited, has a system that may meet these requirements in the PIPEline Wireless Transmitter/Receiver System; its advertised range of 15m is consistent with demonstrated performance of Bluetooth Class 2 transceivers.
