Well you can put it in the code in your comment part of the song, which is easier because you can always access it quicker to change it as opposed to doing it as a comment then having to go through tons of comments to delete.
Ok..
Right click on the background (not the thumbnail version) and view the properties or location of the jpg...
you can also do this from the address bar
that starts http:// Copy it, keep a note of it and then paste or type it into the code below
where it says http://www.putbackgroundurlhere do just that.
Then copy ALL the code paste it into the comment for the song box .. and voila.
That is for a tiled background.

i am new and don't want to be a pain but oh man i so have to.
PLEASE right click and save backgrounds you want to use instead of viewing properties/location and using that web address. When you do that, you are "hotlinking" i.e. stealing someone's bandwidth.
Not AS big of a problem as it was years ago...but it is a problem for small artists who have bandwidth limits on their websites. Every time that background you liked so much is being pulled up on your profile/recording page, it may be costing the site you are linking to money.
Always right click, save to your own computer, then upload to photobucket or another free image hosting site.
**** artist who has had her site frozen more than once from people hotlinking her work and throwing her over her bandwidth limit is now done ranting ****

Come check out the best forum Kat's OHWS & More forum/topic/a718f2a
So Ducky if we use that code for song backgrounds, do we use the parenthesis shown there and also the apostrophe that is shown after the words Your Image URL Here? Sorry to be so dense here. Also, can we use any image no matter whether it is shown as a "background" image? Like if we have a really good pic of Elvis and it is a fairly large image but not really a background image, is there a way to "tile" it or does it actually have to be a background image URL that we use? Thank you for your help or anyone else's who might be on here. Sherrie

You are not being a pain, eitherway it's good to know, but i am confused...what does hotlink & banwith mean? Forgive my 'internet language' but i guess i have a lot to learn...Do you mean like, every time someone uses a pic from a site it seems or costs as if they are using more space on the net or something?
I realise it is an old message but if you -or anyone reading this- could explain in a more simple way it would be great...i'd really like to know.
also, does this apply to sites like facebook (where we can use pics from) or only to payable personal pages?
cheers

It's not always possible to link from web sites and I am going to guess that facebook will be one that doesn't work.
hotlink and bandwidth is basically like you said.. with internet space etc. People pay for their space and bandwidth to keep their site going and if you link their picture then every time someone views your page and that picture, it counts as the original web site's bandwidth. Some people only have x amount a month so if it runs out their web site could be closed. Some people pay by how much bandwidth they use... so you are costing them more money
Hope this helps :)

Yes i think i got it, still i am worried about facebook though. It is not very obvious but you can in fact use pictures from facebook as backgrounds. Right now i am using pics from fb for all my songs and profile background...so being a free site and all i souldn't have a problem, right? On the other hand....facebook can easiy erase your account if you are causing them a problem...they don't inform you if there are any limits in how much space you can use, and this is what worries me. Maybe one day they decide you are too 'heavy' for their site and make you dissapear :D
But i am guessing facebook wouldn't pay by 'bandwith' ,if i got it right, or if they do they have REALY BIG SPACE so i am guessing the problem applies mostly in low budget sites , right?
Eitherway i will keep that in mind for future referense....i am planning to have my own site at some point....

Dose anyone know how to add a background to your songs, I go to some of theses people pages and listen to a song of theirs and they have a cool background that goes with their song, not on the lyrisc picture, their back ground. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
