Sorry that you're having trouble. This bug is actually related to the latest release of Adobe's Flash Player. Unfortunately, we don't have any control over this. The following steps have proven helpful to many people.

Please give the following a try.

1. Open the SingSnap recorder or a saved song.
2. Right mouse click on the recorder or song player.
3. In the menu that opens click on "Global Settings..."
4. A new window should open.
5. Click on the "Camera and Mic" tab at the top of the new window.
5. Click on the "Camera and Microphone Setting by Site..." button.
6. Locate and click "songs.singsnap.com" in the list of websites.
7. Below the list of sites make sure "Allow" is selected in the drop down list.
8. Close both windows and try to record again.

If those steps don't have please message support from the Contact Us link at the bottom of any SingSnap page and we can help you troubleshoot further.

I am having probs getting my cam to work as well, it started today and was fine yesterday, i have followed the comment above and have it on "Allow" but i get a black screen or a still pic of me on cam, my cam works fine in skype, its just Singsnap it dont, hope you can help me, Thankyou

There are bugs with Adobe Flash Player 11.2 (Comes with Google Chrome latest update - version 18.whatever or is downloaded into other browsers):

Bug 1 - Microsoft Lifecam (several models, but not all) video feed does not show. The user sees only a black screen or a still image from the cam. There is no known workaround for this. Check the manufactures website for a driver update. Reverting to Flash Player 11.1 may help. There is an Adobe Bugbase report of this error.

Bug 2 - Older FireFox browsers may not work well with Flash 11.2. Users report that the recorders will not load (some can load the original, but not improved others cannot load either). This can normally be corrected by updating to the latest version of FireFox.

Bug 3 - Stuttering/Choppy audio and video playback. The sound produced presents like the song is reaching the end of the buffer and it's having to load. It's a very jumpy, popping and cracking sound. There is also an Adobe Bugbase report of this error.

Bug 4 - Adobe Flash Permissions stuck in endless loop. Users report that they allow and remember permissions only to be asked to allow again. There are several steps to take regarding this issue. First is to make sure the browser is fully up to date. Second is to use the Flash Global Settings to manually set permissions for "songs.singsnap.com". This can be set from the Global Security Settings panel icon in the Control Panel or from the Global Security Settings panel at this website:

If problems persist after checking/updating/modifying these things then I'd suggest submitting a trouble ticket to SingSnapSupport.

Try using internet explorer for now. There are no issues with that so far. I hope that helps.
