let me start by saying I truly enjoy SingSnap...It is a wonderful site and I am very happy to be here.

I am not anti-SingSnap...I hope it continues for a long long time. I receive immense pleasure from it. I respectfully offer the following:

Here's my critique ... Prices went up and membership became expensive to be here, in an economy when people are losing their homes, their jobs, and tightening their belts... and when the site "up'ed the membership fees it sure made it tough, if not impossible for many...Leaving many to drop out..I understand business...the amount required to be here was set and we were told that it would improve the site, which it has to a point. When you set the membership fees, it should have effectively provided the level of profit needed to run this site, over an extended period of time..

However, Since the prices have risen, I have noticed a decline in the music provided, many of the songs are substandard variations of the original, many of the lyrics and "midi" sounds offered here are found in "free sites" but shouldn't be here on a premium site. Many "original" sounding tracks replaced by "midi" quality instead...not good!

Many of the songs I bought ,sang, and paid for are now licensed and cannot even enjoy listening to them anymore. Many groups missing here are on free sites, such as Billy Joel, and Stevie Wonder, just to name two...I could go on but won't. I think I have made my point.

I don't mind paying for a premium site, when it is indeed offering premium music, and the artists paying members are asking for...but I have noticed a decline in the music offerings..yes the recording aspects have improved tremendously! I sincerely thank you for that. However , recording substandard versions of our favorite songs kinda kills the overall enjoyment.

all I ask is to improve the songs! offer more music, more artists!! I will pay for it, and have been for quite some time! If other members wanna buy a Shamrock? great!!! I am happy for you , glad you can afford what I almost consider a tax, but now can we expect the improvements in music we have requested in return for the income generated? As a paying member for 4 years, I feel I have the right to ask for quality. I am sorry it takes Shamrocks and Hearts to make ends meet...but you set your membership fees pretty damn high...I am sure you considered all the upfront costs of running said site, provided a plan for operating expenses and profit....so you shouldn't need these "income generating" gimmicks.
All I am asking is do what made SingSnap grow to begin with, you offered the best for a fair price...now I feel I am getting less and less for more money...I hope the trend reverses itself and SS returns to the user friendly site that made it grow!! I hope you sell a million Shamrocks so we can get the artists and quality recordings we really want !

Well said... that's how I feel also.
I too, have been here for four years now... and I can recall a SingSnap that is quite different from what I'm seeing now.
It's not about being cheap or tight fisted... clearly, my patron status speaks the opposite of that-
That said, the point of it is SEEING the fruits of what you're paying for. As I commented in an earlier post, when one can't enjoy the recording/listening aspect- when it's March and there are STILL Christmas songs on feature- when the new songs that are being brought in are demos NO ONE wants to sing or repeats of songs we already had- when lic issues make our recordings unavailable to even the person who recorded it, it makes for an unhappy experience.
It's not an anti-SingSnap thing- clearly... it's simply expressing an opinion of how things might be improved.
As Prezley pointed out- these are tough economical times- our memberships aren't cheap...
I, personally, loved this site for it offered me a way to de-stress after a long day... but when things don't work as they should, it's hard to feel less stressed. I might feel more compelled to invest in these extras if things were working well.
This is NOT an attack on anyone- it's voicing my feelings... (which I feel we all should have a right to do).
I feel Prezley very eloquently expressed precisely what the majority of us are thinking/feeling but only the minority of us are willing to say out loud for fear of getting kicked off the site.

The thing is.....and this is based purely on opinion....because I honestly don't know......but I don't think it would matter how much money SingSnap threw at getting these artists unlic'ed...........it is not something they control......if the artists/publishers/record companies do not want them using their tracks....then they don't......no amount of money is going to change that...I think if it did....it would have already been tried.......perhaps someone should bring them here and show them the amount of people that want to sing their songs....lol... :)

We feel exactly the same way. Trust us when we say we wished everyone had the same, wonderful, hassle free experience on this site. Unfortunately technology isn't black and white but we have some wonderful techy-guys who never stop trying to come up with innovative ways to make our system work for everyone's computer, connections, etc.,

If there is something that is not working properly, please send detail information to SingSnap Support so we not only document and troubleshoot it but we may have some solutions you can try =)

a bit of food for thought. in nov i had a major stroke i got to come home in feb and those little hearts peeps gave me went a long way towards keeping my spirts up to know peeps gave a flip was powerful medicine i cannot work so i could not buy them to give . my point is that if one does not want to participate ok. but that small act of kindness may do more good than you realize

I can assure you- none of my friends were behind the act of giving me that shamrock...
Who exactly are you to judge me??? It's the principle of it- if at least a portion of the proceeds were benefitting the hungry in Ireland, for example, I'd buy the friggin lot of them (if it were within my means to do so).
Perhaps, it is YOU who should think before you speak.

I bought 25 shamrocks and intended to give one to several different people. I chose six different recipients and selected the "1" it charged me with two shamrocks for each of the six.... Somebody better check the programming because they're going to get angry when it happens to them. I would like to be credited with 6 more shamrocks (If it's possible)

how's this- I'll gladly accept any shamrocks/ecards that you copy/pasted the image of and didn't cost you a cent. :-)

Please understand, this isn't anything against friendship- it isn't lack of gratitude... you could have just as easily sent me a free html code of a shamrock in my pm box and I would have readily accepted it with a grateful spirit... I just don't agree with what I see here and as I'm unwilling to participate from the purchasing end, I feel it would be hypocritical and wrong (as it goes against my principles) to accept one. Please don't take it personally.

Sounds like a major glitch here, I am still waiting for the ones I paid for and money was took.
