Editing video to fit the audio is at present impossible for members to do, unless they violate the SS Terms of Service. The problem is that post video editing needing a copy of the song saved on the member's computer is beyond the license agreement singsnap holds for the songs.

There may be a way to avoid the conflict. For still photos and graphics, pixlr.com has developed a free flash editor. I see no reason that a similar flash based video editor could not be done. In this type application, all the licensed material would remain on SS servers and the members could edit the video through the flash application.

This could be years down the road, but I would guess the first karaoke site to get it is going to come out on top.

The problem is not in getting video into the SS recorder. But if you shoot lip sync video on location and then you want to match that to the recorded audio, an accurate sync is next to impossible, unless you violate the ToS and store a copy of the audio.

That's probably not a good description of what I'm trying to explain.

I'm working on a way that might get close. Maybe if I can do a test video it would better explain the need to be able to slightly shift short video clips up and down the audio time line.

Let's get the new recorder working better consistently

Cam/vid synching can depend on so many things as I'm sure you know even better than me - I just have my cheap webcam plugged into a powered hub (it does help some), but lighting, if there's a lot of people online (like nights/weekends) you can be slower, dropouts, etc.

Oh one thing, it is against TOS to d/l from SS, yes. It's also against TOS to upload full vids from YT and use them in your sings.
