Sound Properties

OK FIRST, NOT SURE IF I AM AT THE RIGHT SPOT OR NOT BUT HERE GOES IT ALL. I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH SS FROM THE START REALLY. I HAVE WROTE AND THEY NEVER HELPED ME OUT! NOW I AM HAVING PROBLEMS FOR THE PAST 2 DAYS. WHEN I GO TO RECORD A SONG SOMETIMES IT WILL FREEZE OR I WOULD GET LUCKY TO FINISH THE SONG BUT IT WOULD NEVER COME UP SO I COULD CLICK ON TO HEAR THE SONG IN ORDER TO SAVE IT..CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT TO DO TO FIX THIS....... I AM SO SICK OF SINGING & SINGING & SINGING AND NEVER SAVEEEEEEEE ANY........... TKS SUSAN:-)

Hi I hope I am in the right place I had to reformat my pc before taht all was working well I have windows XP I now have sound comming out of my headset so I must have that part right but my mic is not working at all IS there something I forgeot to do or is there somthing else I need to go reset

I had all things working well until my windows xp crashed last week. I reformatted the HD and all is reloaded and etc. I cannot record any songs on Stero Mix, I have to record on Mic ......... Ran the wizard and all the rest but it acts like my computer switched the stero mix for the mic. :( Frustration!!! I can only hear the music out of my headset when I record but cannot hear my voice as I sing it so I am flying blind on that one. Also my mic records my voice but I hear nothing that I used to hear that the mic was engaged and hearing myself record. I know it is some one thing I forgot to check but have been into control panel and set the mic off and stero mix only but then all u can hear is the music and nothing records. Any clues what I am doing wrong........

Stereo mix gives me only music no voice and Mic gives me voice and no music for recording.........reverse of what it should be.

Any guru's out there with any hints? :)

The same thing happen yesterday to me. My computer crashed and now when I record, only music is heard....NOT my VOICE....nothing is set on mute anywhere? puzzled...HELP

is vista able to do singsnap yet? and what's with all the changes? ehehe... I couldn't use it cause I got Vista, and I come back to find that I have to pay for the snap now... I thought beta testers were grandfathered in? But yeah, will vista work yet?

when I record a song I can hear the music while recording but playback there is nothing , and I'm about to give up , which sucks because I like this webpage , but if I can't sing what's the use

Connielynne3. Have you tried 'enable music' option in the playback review window you get after doing the recording ?

Paperbagprincess, the WAVE setting in also labeled "What I Hear" or "WAVE out" or "Stereo Mix" on some computers. This particular setting is in the recording settings on your volume control. To record here on singsnap, you need to have that checked when you start to record. It sounds like your "input" is set for mic and that is why you are not getting the music as a backing track. peachygurl

Ok let me tell you what happenedtonight. Everything was working fine and then the next song i recforded you could not hear me just the music. I have vista love it and have never had a problem with it til noe i habe styero mix on realtec high def audie AND I HAVE Recordingon speaker. Here the music but not me pleaasseeeee help if u canTY Blackwidow

my problem is..

even when im not playing a recording or doing one and i put my headset on i hear a noise that reminds me of the ocean sound in a sea shell its very loud and when i turn on a karoakie it sounds ok but play it back and its all in the red and very very loud i cant get rid of this sea shell sound at all in my headset and i have turned every thing down or up and its there and gets louder. its driving me nuts!! i record always with a headset and im hooked up to a mixer board like they use in the studio that is also connected to my pc. i do not use the stero mixer on singsnap for i have all they have there in my mixer board.

Hi there I have an issue. I followed your first visit on here and all is understood with the options window and the dropping of the properties first the playback button then the recording button,my problem is that it will now give me the option for the propeties to drop and clik on record. so I have only a playback option and when I go to record a song it simple says connection failure.. it will allow the song to play on play button but not to record my version..do you have an answer for this cause i have been in my control panel and cant seem to figure this one out..

Hi. I have a problem too. I am using Windows Media Center Edition. I'm the only person I know that has this version of windows. The ONLY way I'm able to record is to hook up my old computer, which has xp home edition on it. The volume/record/playback panels aren't the same on Media Center Edition. I've had to hang onto my old computer for 2 years now because nobody knows anything about this Media Center Edition. Not Windows ME. It's MCE. Media CENTER Edition. If anyone can help me out, so I can use this computer, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

i'm have'in some problems as well, my recording are getting stuck on " sending to preview " i have to wait hours for it to load to send over to preview!!!!!!

i've done just about everything i think, i re-did my flashplayer (didn't help)....i closed out of all programs except for ss (didn't work).....tryed recording without cam (didn't work).....tryed turning off firewall (didnt work).....even turned off Advast scaner (didnt work)......deleted all the cookies and stuff (didnt work).......did a system restore like 4 times back to when ss was working fine (didnt work)

I hope someone can help me, I had to move my PC, and so had to unplug everything. I was on here this AM, and was working fine. I'm entered in a contest, and they opened up a chat, so when I went into the chat, my songs couldn't be heard, but, they could hear when I played pre-records! I do not understand what happened, everything is plugged into the right places, yet I can't record anymore!

I have been on the site for quite some time, so I know how the stuff on site works, and ran set-up over and everything. Someone in the chat room for my contest tried to help me and it still wouldn't work!
And, I consider myself pretty computer savvy.
I'm only running a Headphone/mic set, so I know it shouldn't be a problem!!!

I have been trying to record.Everyime I start to record I get that "Law and Order sound!'...Dundom and the words:the computer reads" you do not have a token ".Then it goes off very quickly!I have afew recordings,however that is because I recorded them on my sisters' computer.I don't know anything about what a token is.I know tokens for subways,games and even passes for rides but,.I called one computer place and the man didn't know what I was talking about! I hope someone can help me.Thanks.

I am using "Windows Vista" and cannot get my microphone to record anything! I have read all of the help guides and have tried to reset the microphone, all to no avail. OK trying another PC and if I hook my karaoke to it, it hums/ annoying buzzes... doesn't do it on my other pc which is getting drop outs... If i just use mic into sound card, barely get voice sound unless right at my mouth..

The iPhone (and the new IPad) does not support Adobe Flash which recording and playback from SingSnap is based upon.

However, every indication is that Windows Mobile 7, to be released this spring will support Adobe Flash and if so, that should mean Snap will work on Smart Phones with Windows Mobile 7! T-Mobile may the first to offer this functionality .

The reason why Apple for the unforeseeable future will not support Adobe Flash on their iPhone and iPad is that to offer this functionality could allow utilization of apps that could complete with iTunes :D

Using the mic on your computer doesn't give you good sound. It picks up all of the noise from the computers fans.
You need a microphone that plugs into the sound card. You sound card is usually located on the back of your computer and has either 3 or 4 openings in it to place your microphone in, or an external mixer etc.
One wire to hear your voice the other plug to hear the music. (located on the mic)

You can choose which ever windows program you are running and set up your system that way

hi catseye when you are in the preview if you notice the top right there is a light blinking red green yellow it is calculating the recording and it will make it sound like it is skipping but the finished product should not sound that way so go ahead and save it and see if it s clear then ?
it is just calculating like i said so perhaps this is what you are hearing?? let us know thanks ,
