It's Heart Health Month!

On SingSnap, February is the 'Month of Love' where we celebrate the friendships and special bonds that we've formed across the miles. In the USA it also happens to be 'Heart Month' where healthy heart awareness is put at the forefront and people are encouraged to take care of themselves - and their hearts. We want all of our Snappers, across the globe, to be proactive in being healthy so we've decided to dedicate an entire challenge to the cause!

The Hearty Details!

On February 24th we will invite everyone to get heart healthy with us by completing the challenge below! This will be the kick-off for an even larger event that we're having for the entire month of March. We're calling that March Through March and hope that everyone who participates next week, will join us marching in March!

The Challenge!

Please complete both Part A, Part B AND Part C of the challenge below! Once successfully completed, your song will be added to our Hearty Playlist and you will be awarded a banner!

Hearty Challenge Part A: Sing any song from our special 'Get Up and Move' Feature Page!

Hearty Challenge Part B: Whether you're on cam, or off cam - we want you to MOVE! We realize not everyone is able (or comfortable if on cam) getting up and moving around - but during your song we want you to move. Whether it be walking, jogging on the spot, doing jumping jacks, lifting a can over your head, curling it with your arms, shrugging your shoulders, absolutely any kind of movement that you don't usually do while singing! It's okay if you get a little out of breath, or if you need a break - the goal is to get moving!

Hearty Challenge Part C: Make a Healthy Goal and tell us about it in your Song Comment section. We will offer some help below, but we want you to make your very own, personal goal of something you can (and will) do in your own life to help your heart health! Maybe you'll add additional exercise, maybe you'll add some healthy food, or even cut out some unhealthy habits! Whatever you decide to do, we encourage you to give it a valiant effort and stick to it. YOU CAN DO IT! Read below for some healthy heart tips of super simple things you can do to improve your heart health! We will be featuring videos of our Snappers who are decked out in their work-out gear and giving it their all! Don't be shy!

Part C of the challenge requires you make your own personal goal of how to improve your heart's health. Here are some ideas that you can incorporate into your every day routine that can improve your heart's health and literally add years to your life.

Remember when making your goals, that they should be S.M.A.R.T

S – Specific (clear)
M – Measurable – you will know when you’ve achieved them
A – Achievable – you can achieve them
R – Relevant – they mean something to you
T - Time-based – you set yourself a time limit to achieve your goals.

There's Hearts Galore on SingSnap!

It's February - The Month Of Love and we've got something brand new and super cool for you! If you're into love and romance, or just showing your friends you think they're special - this announcement is for you.

You can have a heart too! You can even buy them for all your friends - the possibilities are endless! Hearts are now available for purchase and they will remain next to you/your friends username until February 17th, 2012. The sooner you purchase the hearts, the longer they'll be on display - so don't hesitate - buy today!

How To Purchase & Deliver Hearts!

1. Scroll to the bottom of any page on SingSnap and click on the small heart icon.

2. You are now on the Purchase Page. Select the value package that suits you and click on the 'Proceed to Checkout' button.

3. Now you're ready to checkout! You can pay by either Paypal or Credit Card.

4. Complete the transaction and proceed to the Heart Distribution Centre.

5. Type in the exact username of the intended recipient and select the number of hearts you wish to give them. You will see a tally displayed of how many hearts you have purchased and how many are remaining. The hearts will be displayed approximately 10 minutes after being applied.

6. Click the 'Apply Hearts" button and your hearts will be delivered!

The first heart a member receives will give them the icon next to their name. Every heart after that will be displayed as a numeric value next to the heart.

Give Your Pet A Hug!

The best thing about our pets is they love us even when we don't deserve it! There is no other love quite like the love of an animal so our goal is to celebrate that unconditional companionship!

This challenge is open to absolutely everyone who loves animals, even if they don't currently have a pet of their own.

Today's Furry Challenge:

Show your pet to SingSnap! Past, present or even future pets allowed (We'll even accept spouses lol) ! Introduce your furry, feathered, scaled, shaved, hairy, slippery, slimey, perfectly pruned pet to us! If you can get them on cam - great! If you can get them to sing - fantastic! Be sure to complete both Part A and one of the Part B's of the challenge.

Part A: Sing any song on today's Pet Lovin' Feature Page!

Part B Cam: Show off your pet! Get them to sing if you can (hehe). Dress up like it, show us pictures or even draw one! Whatever your creative mind inspires!

Part B Audio: Tell us about your pet! You can either tell us verbally about your favorite pet, memory, desire to have one someday, etc., OR in your song comment section: post pictures, write a poem or story, or something other genius way of introducing us to your beloved furry friend!

An Entire Month of Love and Friendship!

SingSnap holds a special place in the hearts of many because of it's unique way of uniting people together. Friendships have been formed over the years and across the miles and we've once again decided to dedicate the entire month to celebrating and embracing those bonds!

We Have Grape Expectations For Week Five!

This is it! This is your last chance to help figure out who hit Trevor In The Head With A Snowball! Pay close attention to the clues as this is your very last chance to make a guess! Those who guess correctly might receive an extra special banner for their profile!

This is the last week that we will post a new clue to help you figure out the identity of the guilty party. It is your job to solve the mystery! If you think you know who it is, you make your guess by completing the challenge associated with that Staff member! So choose carefully!

Week Five Clue:

So here it is, your final chance - I'll try not to make this too wordy

This week is purplicious! We want you to look your grapest - so get creative and have fun with the final week of Winterfest! Since we're also kicking off February - The Month Of Love, this week's theme is all about L-O-V-E! We're stirring up some perfect purplicious potions that are guaranteed to warm the heart!

Your Challenge For Week Five:

If you successfully complete this challenge you will received your Purple snowball!

Please complete all three parts of this challenge! You must remember to A) Cast Your Vote, B) Do The Side Challenge at the same time as you C) Sing Your Song!

Your Challenge Part A: Cast Your Vote! At the start of your song you must either SAY who you think it guilty and/or make a banner! Bust out the arts and crafts, use camera software - or even write it on your face! Let us know who your final guess is!

Your Challenge Part B: If you're on Cam - Dress-up and Make a purple potion (And drink it)! Make a grape concoction right on cam - using any sort of purple ingredient you can find and have a swig on cam! If you're doing Audio - sing us a spell! At the start of your song make up a love spell that is at least four (4) lines long and uses the word 'Purple'!

Featuring: Feature Pages!

As part of the 'Month Of Love', we're going to have a few fabulous features to keep you entertained and in the spirit! We're also announcing a very exciting change to our Feature Page so read below to get all the details!

Let's Watch Wiarton Willie!

Thursday celebrates a popular North American tradition called 'Groundhog's Day' . We watch and wait on our furry friends to predict how much longer Winter will last!

If the groundhog comes outside and does not see his shadow - he predicts an early spring! So we can celebrate and party hard to bring in the warm weather.

If the groundhog comes outside and does see his shadow, he will scurry back into his burrow and predict another six, very long weeks, of winter.

This year we're going to watch Wiarton Willie, who is the notorious albino Canadian groundhog from Bruce County, Ontario!

Willie can be watched live on the Watch Willie website! We, at SingSnap headquarters, will be watching feverishly and based upon Willie's predictions - will change the feature page up with some hand selected tunes!

If Willie Declares An Early Spring: The feature page will switch and showcase some of the most upbeat, fun, entertaining, and get-your-body-moving party songs to celebrate and welcome the warmer weather!

If Willie Declares Six More Weeks Of Winter: The feature page will switch and showcase some of the most relaxing, mellow and lullaby-type songs to help Willie get back into a restful slumber.

Come Celebrate With Us!

You are cordially invited to our third annual Chatentine! This event is an opportunity to come interact with members across the world, sharing your passion and love for music. You are encouraged to get into the spirit of the event and spot your hottest shades of red, pink and white and celebrate the friendships you've made - across the miles!

What's the Challenge?

1. Dress-Up like a Walking Valentine! This could mean something as simple as wearing Red, Pink or White - OR - getting creative and thinking out of the box! Paint your face, dress up as something symbolic of "love", anything you want! Creativity is the name of the game.

2. We sing/play our recordings in the chat room - so when you come, be prepared to dedicate your song to someone in the room - AND - tell us why!! It can be sappy, funny, off the wall! Your song, your choice!

Don't Forget To Solve The Mystery!

The guilty Staffer who hit Trevor In The Head With A Snowball is still at large! He still needs your help tracking down the culprit.

Each week we will post a new clue to help you figure out the identity of the guilty party. It is your job to solve the mystery! All you need to know can be found by visiting the Staffer's in questions profiles/recordings - so show us how great of a sleuth you are!

Week Three Introduces: Annie Green And The Seven Dorks!

Once upon a time in a land far, far away lived a beautiful maiden, her handsome prince and her delightfully funny and friendly dorks! There were seven in total and went by the names of Nerdy, Needy, Stinky, Silly, Grouchy, Giggles and Doubtful.

Most considered it a weird but lovely little family except one wickedly wicked witch who was green with envy! The wicked witch wanted what Grannie Green had and would stop at nothing to get the beautiful maiden out of the picture for good and to steal her charming prince.

Your Challenge For Week Three:

If you successfully complete this challenge you will received your Green snowball!

You must complete Part A (Cam/Audio Challenge) as well as Part B (The Song Challenge) to earn your snowball!

Part A Cam/Audio Challenge: The wicked witch needs your help to once and for all, get Grannie Green out of the picture. At the start of your song you must somehow persuade Grannie Green to take a bite of your apple! Use your sweetest voice or your most frightening! Whatever you think will convince her she MUST eat the apple! Cam users, don't forget to get featured by dressing up like your favorite Green Character or decorating yourself (and your cam?) in this wonderfully majestic shade!
